This debate has been never ending for as long as colors have existed in schools. Students will fight, brawl, bicker, and attack over this issue. Colors are debatable, but honestly, they should be set in stone when it comes to the subjects they are affiliated with in school. English is red, math is blue, and science is green.
The most common debate is over what colors math and English are. Far too often it is said that English is blue and math is red, but that does not make any sort of sense. Red is associated with passion, power, and courage, which can be associated with English as a subject more often than not because of the subject’s use of literature. At what point does math involve passion? I find math to be very unpassionate. Blue symbolizes stability, intelligence, and wisdom. I feel as though that best represents math because students typically use the most brain power while answering hard-ended questions, like in math. It takes a lot of intelligence to do that.
Is it not also kinda funny that the color red is pronounced the same as when you have read something? Reading is very common in English classes. No doubt about the similarity there.
Science is pretty obviously green. There is not much debate there. Yet, some seem to think it belongs to social studies, which is absolutely outrageous. Growing up, science was learning about the enviorment’s greenery. In high school, science is mostly focused on biology and chemistry; students learn about greenery in biology and chemicals and chemistry. If someone were to search for a drawing of a potion, usually, what color would it be. That is right, green. What could a potion be made out of? Chemicals.
The argument that comes with the subject of colors is quite hysterical. Arguements would happen way less if people thought more logically about their subject colors, or if the colors were always associated with said subject.
