The Class of 2026 celebrated its commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 31. Before walking across the stage to receive diplomas from administrators and school board members, the audience heard from class vice president Phoebe Clay.
“No matter who you are, everyone here has made a difference in this school,” said Clay. “There’s so much good that surrounds us that we often don’t take the time to notice. So, as we enter this new chapter in our lives, remember to take in the good.”
Similarly, class president Tucker Harris celebrated their successes and struggles together, including a remembrance and celebration of one of the defining moments for many in the Class of 2026.
“What makes us unique is our community,” said Harris. “This community feel was never more apparent than in April of 2025 when our classmate Noah Maddox passed… In the following weeks, our grade was as close as ever. Between celebrations, paying respects, and remembrance, there were no more groups in our grade. Only one class, united in supporting and being there for one another.”
The day commenced with the passing of responsibilities to junior class president Charlie Rothrock before the honorary moment of moving their tassels.
